About Us

 

La Belle Auberge Restaurant is located in the old village of Ladner, British Columbia. It is situated in a 100-year-old Victorian house. The restaurant has two levels and five dining rooms. All dining rooms can be enclosed for private functions and sit up to 100 guests.

La Belle Auberge is one of four Mobil Exxon 4-stars in Vancouver and it has also won many awards.

La Belle Auberge Restaurant is providing cooking classes through a 4-course gastronomic menu format to the public. Classes will be held Sundays or Mondays. Check our COOKING CLASSES link for more information.

 

2 Bruno G. Marti

Above and beyond being crowned World Champion in the 1982 Culinary Olympics and four gold medals in 1996, Bruno continues to receive accolades that celebrate him as a chef, a businessman and a restauranteur.

1 Tobias MacDonald

Tobias has been at the restaurant since 1998. In 2002 he took a year off to work at Schloss Falkenstein in Switzerland, was captain of the Culinary Team Canada, honoured as BC Chefs chef of the year in 2008 and, now coaches the junior National team in their run for the 2012 Culinary Olympics.

Elmond Wong

Our Maitre d'Hotel Elmond Wong has been entertaining guests at La Belle Auberge since 1986. He has a sharp wit, a fine palate, extensive wine knowledge and always goes out of his way to ensure a great dining experience is had by all who dine here. Elmond received a service exellence award from American Express in 2004.

Rashida Bensherif

Rashida is currently schooling at Kwantlen College. Her beautiful smile lights our dining room. Formerly of Cafe de Paris, she is a very welcome addition to our team.

Steve Kuan

Steve Kuan, came to us after competing in the apprentice of the year competition, where he took home the honour of being the best apprentice in all of Canada. He is currently finishing his schooling and has a very promising career ahead of him.

Cassidy Mintzler

Cassidy is from right here in Ladner. After celebrating her 12th birthday here, she gained a passion and an appreciation for great food, so when a bussing job opened she jumped at the opportunity.

Jasper Cruickshank

Jasper, a second year apprentice just returned from Ireland as a member of the Canadian Junior Team where they made one gold, one silver, and placed second overall. This was the first try at international competitions for Jasper, just a taste of what is to come as he gets ready for the Culinary Olympics in 2012.

 

Thomas Pollet

Thomas Pollet is from Switzerland he has come to Canada to polish his craft and see who has better snow. He resides in our garde manger making sure all the cold dishes and pastries are top notch.
